The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources has instituted a stocking program for Santee Cooper and introduces approximately two and one half million fingerling Stripers into Lake Moultrie each spring. This stocking plus natural reproduction insures a healthy population of mature fish. The stocking of Arkansas Blue and Flathead Catfish in the mid 60's has created an outstanding fishery for these species.
